Camouflage passion, the new basic chic line17.01.2022
Camouflage was first used in the military at the beginning of the 19th century. Riflemen, who began to wear green and grey uniforms to hide from the enemy, were the pioneers of camouflage. But it was with the First World War, and the development of more precise weapons, that camouflage became a necessity. At the time it was employed both to reduce the risk of being shot and to avoid being spotted from above by air fleets.
Initially used only for uniforms, camouflage was later used on trucks, aircraft and entire camps. This led to the emergence of so-called ‘camoufleur’ artists, who specialised in the art of camouflage. Black, green, brown and khaki are the colours that, in all their shades, have always been used to create a camouflage effect that recalls the nuances of natural landscapes.
At the end of the 1960s, military print became a means of gaining visibility and was worn by women on peace marches. In 1986, it became the focal point of a pop piece by Andy Warhol, Camouflage Self-Portrait. Today, camouflage is a recurring trend in both fashion and design.
Though born out of the need to become invisible to the enemy, camouflage is now a means to attract attention. Modern interpretations of camouflage include fluorescent and unconventional colour combinations. For our VSCT leather line, we have chosen to use it in its classic version, designing a series of leather accessories that combine well with both casual and elegant styles.
A travel-friendly trend
The camouflage print, with its versatile and eye-catching design, brings a fun yet elegant element to our line of travel accessories. Our camouflage pochette bag with its practical wrist strap makes it an absolute must-have for weekend getaways, business trips or summer holidays.

Complete the camouflage matching set of leather accessories with our luggage tag. This address holder made from palmellato leather features a handy pocket in which to insert your contact details to better recognise and trace your suitcase or bag.
A friend of technology
The camouflage print is also featured on our AirPods and AirPods Pro covers. Both models come with a snap button closure and a practical opening at the bottom to allow the earphones to be charged without removing the cover. This accessory is embellished with a golden carabiner and leather strap to easily attach it to a bag or trouser loop, or simply wear it around the neck as a stylish accessory.
Technology enthusiasts might also enjoy our leather laptop case, which also comes in a camouflage print that complements all the other colours offered within the VSCT line. The case is embellished with a gold-finished zip closure, can hold a 13″ laptop and fits perfectly inside our new briefcase.
The Business Travel Collection briefcase is made of carefully selected leather that is both water and scratch-resistant. The accessory is lined in soft flocked velvet and equipped with two handles and a shoulder strap. The camouflage briefcase is a great alternative to a backpack and can be combined with cognac, blue or grey clutch bags and document holders.
Along with your briefcase, don’t forget to bring your writing instruments to important meetings and contract signings. Our VSCT line pen holders and small zip cases come in different sizes and colour variants and feature a golden slider shaped like the distinctive Visconti nib.
The camouflage pattern is not only suitable for leather accessories, it is also the colour of some of our most iconic pens. Among the most emblematic editions are the Opera Master Savanna collection, inspired by the colours of the African savannah, and the Homo Sapiens Tuscan Hills collection that brings to life the different shades of green of the Tuscan countryside.
