al-Aqsa
We brought this magnificent piece of art to life to celebrate the holy city, which gave its origins to the three monotheistic religions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam. This is Visconti’s latest creation from the Mystic Pens collection, dedicated to the religions of the world.
“Faith moves mountains.”

NAME ORIGIN
The expression al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, which translates as “the far mosque”, originates from the account of a miraculous journey made by the Prophet Muhammad in about 621, according to which he travelled for one night on a mysterious mount, Burāq, which took him from the “holy mosque” in Mecca to the “ultimate mosque”, Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. From a rock there, Muhammad would mount the Burāq once more to ascend through the 7 heavens, accompanied by the angel Gabriel, where he prayed with Abraham, Moses and Jesus.
DOME OF THE ROCK
The Dome of the Rock is located at the centre of a platform known as the Temple Mount. Small ceramics decorate the pen, reproducing the walls of the Mosque. The clip is encrusted with a semiprecious stone made of a similar material of the “Foundation Stone” that is preserved inside the Mosque. The top of the cap is an exact reproduction of the dome.
